Turduckin

At the dinner party last night (which turned out to be for American Thanksgiving, aka, an excuse for Canadians to throw a second Thanksgiving dinner), my housemates served a turduckin.

If you think the name is strange, wait until you hear what it actually is: a chicken, stuffed inside of a duck, stuffed inside of a turkey. I was half grossed out and half intrigued. Why not wrap the whole thing in bacon and serve it on a steak? Go big or go home, people. Apparently it was quite good.

I was the only veggie there, and I served baked tofu. Now, I'm not just saying this because I like tofu and because I think I'm a good cook, but it was AMAZING tofu. Lucky for me, nobody wanted to try it (you know the 'eeew, tofu' thing people do) so I got to eat most of it myself, and I got to keep the leftovers. This made me eerily happy. My Better Half served his huge apple pie and apple crumble, which were both a big hit.

We have spent most of this morning trying to fish my longest, most dangly metal earring out of our bathroom drain. What a pain. I don't think it's coming out, so I'm debating leaving it in there so it can turn into a real mess. Does anyone have a pipe wrench I can borrow?

And, just because this seems to be the sort of post where I jump from topic to topic, I have bitten the bullet and made an appointment with a hair stylist. I usually do a lot of my own cutting, and I've always done my own bleaching (I've had the same blond skunk stripe since I was in grade seven, no exaggeration). I'm tied of doing it myself though. I'm going to let someone else take the reins and see if it makes a difference.

Happy Sunday, and happy belated Thanksgiving to all of you celebrating.

Right now I am thankful for good strong magnets, and my cup of tea.

Let me know how your hair person is. It's always a challenge finding someone good in a new city. I've been once to someone downtown and it was okay. Next time I'm going to let her do whatever she wants and then I'll see if I'm dazzled enough to return. (Hair is a very expensive thing to own)

I will let you know for sure... I already know she gives great hair cuts, because I've been to her once. I'm just hoping she can bleach as well as me. :)
