Two Honourable Mentions!

Woooot!

So, although I wasn't anticipating a win in the Best of Ottawa XPress poll, I am so thrilled with the results.

I got an honourable mention in both categories: Best New Musical Act and Best Folk Album!!!! To get an honourable mention, you need a significant number of votes. I kind of forgot the honourable mention thing existed, but what a pleasant surprise. Thanks to everyone who lent their support. I'm pleased as punch.

I've been desperately trying to get things done and cross chores off my list today, but I think I'll take a little breather to celebrate. Then I'll mark my nothing-doingness down as a "relaxing and rejuvenating activity."

Hah!

YEAH! That's wonderful! You ARE the best and it's an honour to mention it.

I miss the Xpress. I don't think I've read it since the "Best Ottawa Rumour" category was "Eugene Haslam for Prime Minister", but I used to read it cover to cover every week (and fill out that survey!) I think when I was about 14, I cut out an article about Ember Swift (quitting her day job to play music) because I thought she had such a cool name.

Now Magazine here is so big, it's daunting to read and scares me.

Congrats Andrea! That's awesome. I hope you had a chance to celebrate last night. You deserve it.

Thanks guys... I celebrated by going to the chiropractor and then making spaghetti.

Word!

You rock, dudette -- honourable mentions, chiropractor AND spaghetti, all in the same day. What a dizzy terrifyingly high plane of existence you inhabit.

But seriously, good on you for scoring well with Xpress and Ottawa music fans. So, tell me... what's next for Andrea?

Hmmm... That's a very deep question UP.

Long term: hopefully some touring, widening my listener base, and learning how to make a chocolate guiness ganache.

Short term: drum lessons, watching bulldog videos on Youtube, and salsa classes.

A girl can dream....
