Live Together and Get a Dog

Funny sort of day.

My Better Half and I went to our favourite Thai restaurant for dinner, and as soon as we walked through the door, the owner put on my CD. It was so surreal to hear my own voice through the speakers instead of the usual traditional Thai pop music. We have been going there for over seven years, so it was pretty cool.

As we were chatting with the owner, he asked us when we were getting married (we were telling him that all our friends were either tying the knot or buying houses). We shrugged and said, "Whenever we feel like throwing a party." Then I think he felt bad for asking, and told us a story about his friend who got married after living with his girlfriend for seven years. They broke up within six months of the wedding. "See?" he said. "You don't need to get married if you don't want. Just live together and get a dog!"

Right-o. I'll make sure to bring the bulldog puppy by the restaurant this summer.

When we got back home, I said, "You know, I never got that book about the music industry that I ordered last month. It's been ages!" My BH looked over my shoulder and pointed. I turned to see a package with my name on it. My book had come! Now I can read about how people will try to swindle me out of my money, should I ever be lucky enough to make any. Fat chance. I'm still trying to pay off my cards.

Speaking of which (cheap plug!). If you still need to get Christmas gifts, I just happen to have this nifty album I recorded over the last year. It almost won two awards.

Off to wrap presents and light the menorah. Because I am a devout Jew. Also because the candles are pretty and make me think of birthday cake. Mmmm, cake.
